I need water and sunlight to do my photo synthesis and therefore should be placed in an appropriate environment (air pressure, humidity, sunlight). I communicate via my outward appearance (loss of color, leaves).
POV
A specific type of plant needs appropriate light conditions (LUX, amount of light / day) because these are necessary for photo synthesis. Plants need nutrition rich soil because it helps them grow. Plants need the right air humidity because they start rotting otherwise or cannot grow properly.
